County Minor League - Div 2

Rathmore 0-9 V Emmets 1-12

Our Minors continued on their winning ways last weekend as they travelled to Rathmore last Saturday and put in a sterling performance against the locals with a 0-9 to 1-12 victory. Emmets started well and led by four points at the break with scores coming from the impressive Sean Keane and Steven McCarthy.  In the second half, Emmets continued to push on but it was our defence line that stood firm with Daniel Houlihan pulling off three fine saves and an equally impressive outing for Aidan Shanahan in the corner and Eddie Browne in the centre.

Ciaran Pierce and Rob Smith equipped themselves well, while the introduction of Jamie McVeigh proved decisive as he knocked up 1-1 in a matter of moments, all forwards were to the fore with fine scores from Fergal Wall, Lorcán Moloney, Steven McCarthy while Sean Keane finished up with a personal tally of 0-4. They next meet with Kerins O’Rahilly’s at home on 25th March at 4pm.

North Kerry League Div1 B - Round 3

Emmets 0-11 Finuge 0-12

Emmets recorded their third loss in the North Kerry League away to Finuge on Saturday last, played in fine conditions Emmets led by five points at the break but failed to materialise on this in the second half as the home side bit away at the lead with good scores from Gary Hogan, Reggie Galvin and James Flaherty. Pat Corridan’s contribution was notable with five points, Emmets went three points down with ten minutes to go and brought the game back to a draw but Finuge dug deep again with an impressive display by the Corridan brothers ensuring victory for the home side. Emmets now meet with Ballylongford to determine relegation.
