Although assured of  promotion Desmond's were guaranteed 2nd place in Division 2 following their 1-17 to 3-9 victory over Listry in Castleisland on Sunday. Although missing several regulars it provided the younger players with the opportunity to stake their place in the team for the North Kerry championship.  They responded in fine style and produced some lovely moves that yielded some excellent scores. Listry, to their credit, never gave in and helped to make it an open entertaining match. 

Desmond's now face in to the North Kerry championship next Sunday v Ballydonoghue in Listowel at 3.00 p.m. The performance of the younger players will provide food for thought for the selectors during the week.

Unfortunately there is an unavoidable clash on Sunday as the Ladies play Kilmacud Crokes in the All Ireland Intermediate semi final in Castleisland at 1.00 p.m.  This will be a match to savour and the team deserves the support of the entire community.  There is ample opportunity for supporters to travel to Listowel after the ladies game.Regards pat/colm
