Kerry Hurlers: Congratulations to Sean Weir and Shane Nolan on their performance in Kerry’s victory in the first round of the Christy Ring. Kerry play Kildare or Wicklow in the next round in two weeks time.

Under 6 and 8’s : There were over 50 at under 6 and 8 training on Friday evening,  a great time was had by all.

Novice Championship: St. Senans 1-15 Ballylongford 0-8

This match was played in dry conditions in Mountcoal, and the youthful Senans team prevailed in a match which the scoreline did not reflect the Ballylongford teams worth. Senan’s led at halftime but were playing into the wind in the second half and it was very difficult to predict a winner at that stage. The second substitutes were influential for Senans and the loss of Kiki Mulvihill who was Ballylongford’s Main Scorer through Injury was a big blow to Ballylongford.

The first half was very even on play with Senans taking more of their scoring opportunities. The Midfield battle between Damien Somers, and Jason Browne for St Senans versus Kenneth Sheehy and David Culhane was full blooded with the St. Senans  Pair gaining control as the second half went on.

 Ballylongford were unfortunate in this match as they missed a number of oportunities and picked up a lot of injuries during the match. Eoin o Connell was very influential in goals and controlled the match well through his kickouts. David Behan continues to show promise and scored an excellent point when introduced. Senans are now through to the semi-final which will be played in September. Other Novice games this played at the weekend. Cromane 0-8  -v-  0-9 Listry.
