John B Keane League Finals
A great evening was had by all in Frank Sheehy Park on Friday night last, our evening kicked off with the C Final where the Ghleann captained by Bradley Enright & Sophie Flaherty defeated the Boro captained by Kyle Curran & Aisling O’Connor after extra time. This was a great game with both teams leaving it all on the field.
B Final involved both the Ashes captained by Dara O’Callaghan & Aoife Dalton had a four point victory over the Blackcock Feathers captained by Josh Moran & Aisling O’Sullivan again a game that was in the melting point until the closing few minutes. The A Final was another entertaining game that saw Jamie Doyle and Orla Lyon’s Country take this year’s trophy. This game was end to end and lived up to all expectations as the Listowel Independents led by Robert Enright & Aoife Hickey took the game to the Country but it was the latter who held out. Huge congratulations to all involved in making this event what it is the players and their coaches. Special word of thanks to Jerry Fitzgerald for co-ordinating, to the referees for the unenviable task, to everyone that helped out in the kitchen on the night mile buiochas. To the Keane family for their continued support of this league and finally to our Scor na bpaisti musicians who played our teams around Frank Sheehy Park before the finals was a joy to behold.
North Kerry U15 League Final Division 1 Emmets 2-11 Finuge 2-10, congratulations to our U15 team who played out a very entertaining game v Finuge on Sunday last in a pitch perfect Ballylongford. Emmets raced into an early lead only for Finuge to claw back their lead as they lead by two at the break, Emmets again started well in the second half but a tenacious Finuge side never gave up with the final quarter seeing plenty of action. Well done to Tommy & his management team, the winning shield was presented to captain Trevin Chute.
