SCOR NA bPAISTI CHIARRAI THUAIDH FINALS

The North Kerry Finals of Scor Na bPaisti took place at the Community Centre, Ballybunion on Friday last June10th where once again this very popular competition drew a nice-sized attendance to the Seaside venue. The standard of competition was of the highest order and well done to all competitors for the wonderful entertainment they provided. It was indeed a very successful evening for North Kerry Football Scor with 7 Clubs taking part; Beale Ballydonoghue, St. Senans, Ballylongford, Finuge, Moyvane and Listowel Emmets.

Great credit is due to all the Clubs Cultural Officers for having their Clubs represented in competition this time around but certainly the remaining clubs should be making a bigger effort to participate. Certainly it was a memorable evening for the Beale Club and when the adjudicators made their final deliberations on the night they were crowned North Kerry champions in Recitation, Jack Brown, the Novelty Act victors were; Katie Joyce, Jack Brown, Evie O Connor, Rory O Connor, Evelyn Pierce, Gracie O Sullivan and Patsy Rose Byrne, successful also in the Instrumental Music group of; Katie Joyce, Gracie O Sullivan, Finan Fogarty, Saoirse Fogarty and Marianne Kiely  and to cap a memorable evening they were presented with the Overall Trophy. In the Solo Singing, Aoife Kennelly, Moyvane gave a lovely rendering of Dingle Bay to go forward.

Finally with the last discipline of the competition we had the Sean Nos Dancing with victory going to Listowel Emmets, Dara O Cinneide over St. Senans Cathal White. After the presentations of medals, the first placed will now go forward to the County Finals which are pencilled in for Saturday July 2nd with time and venue to be confirmed.
