Beale GAA   08/04/2019

Beale seniors came up short against Renard on Sunday in our opening game in Group 2 of the County Junior Club Championship. Renard looked the better team in the first half and dominated at midfield. Our forward line was starved for ball and yet we were just three points adrift at the interval, 0-6 to 0-3.

We came to life on the changeover and turned the deficit into our advantage in just ten minutes, taking the lead by 0-7 to 0-6. The teams were level on 1-9 apiece with just six minutes on the clock and it was anyone’s game. However, the wheels came off the wagon and we were guilty of indiscipline, resulting in a red card. We trailed by two points at the final whistle, 1-11 to 1-9. We play Asdee in the next round on Sunday in Moyvane at 2.30.

Beale minors top the County League, Division 4, with a comprehensive win over Fossa on Friday evening. Both teams served up some delightful football in the opening half and it was tit for tat right through on the field of play and on the scoreboard. We were just one point adrift at the short whistle.

Again on the changeover little separated the teams as they exchanged opening scores. We then changed up a gear as our opponents battled. Our defence stood firm and we capitalised on scoring chances. A high-scoring game ended in our favour, 6-9 to 2-10. We now look forward d to the semi-final against Ardfert on Friday in Ballybunion at 6.45.

Beale juniors will be in action in the North Kerry League, Division 3, against Emmets in Ballybunion. Throw in at 6.45. Other teams in this grouping are Moyvane, Ballydonoghue and Castleisland Desmonds.

Our next senior County League games are in May when we play Tousist and Kenmare Shamrocks B. June is a busy month with games against Miltown-Castlemaine B, Scartaglin and Dingle B. Our final two games will be against Kerins O‘Rahillys B and Dr Crokes C in July.
