Ballydonoghue 2.12 v Castleisland Desmonds 1.07

Division 2 Round 4
Duagh 2.07  v Moyvane 1.06

Knocknagoshel 2.12 v Asdee 0.06

Report by Jack Hennessy Asdee

Certainly the final scoreline doesn’t do justice to a game Asdee side who for 42 minutes were very much in this game as the scoreline at that stage read Knocknagoshel 0-5 Asdee 0-4 with Asdee enjoying plenty possession. However whether Asdee ran out of steam or Knock upped the pace its irrevelant because Knock were to take complete control at midfield from here in and 2 goals in the 19th and 21st minutes guaranteed the home side to be involved in the knockout stages of the competition. The opening half was dominated by defences and scores were hard to comeby; Edmond Walsh opened the scoring with the score of the game from an acute angle. David O Donoghue added another before Mike Breen was on target for Asdee. Both sides were to kick some terrible wides as play became rather scrappy. John Walsh who was having a battle royal with Asdee full back Kieran Kelly kicked a lovely point in the 12th minute. Then in the 15th minute it looked as if Darragh Roache was in for the opening goal of the game but Asdee keeper Stephen Lynch was equal to the task bringing off a marvellous save. Darragh Keane and Niall Barrett exchanged points and at half time Knock led 4pts to 3pts. As he did in the first half Edmond Walsh popped over in the first minute. It was still nip and tuck with Paul O Carroll and John Walsh exchanging scores. At this stage even though had plenty possession it was Knock who were taking their scores when presented but they were helped by indiscpline on the opposing side and Edmond Walsh with 4pts was in great form at centre forward. Still Asdee were hanging in there but Michael Walsh with a well taken goal in the 19th minute followed with substitute John O Keeffe with his first touch hit the net  2 minutes later put this game out of reach. John Regan for Knock and John Doran and Mike Breen completed the scoring. Teams and scorers.
