With both teams having qualified for the semi-final, Beale and Desmonds minors will not play the final round of the North Kerry League, Division 1. The two teams will instead go head to head in the semi-final on Tuesday in Mountcoal at 7 o’clock.

Beale juniors lost out to a much stronger Na Gaeil side in the County Barret Cup on Friday evening by 5-17 to 3-2. We now compete for the Cahill Cup and await details of our next fixture.

For GAA supporters, the Bernard O'Callaghan Memorial Senior Football Championship, officially named in honour of the late Bernie O'Callaghan, former chairman of Beale GAA Club and of the North Kerry GAA Board, shortens the winter months, with local bragging rights up for grabs.

Club placings in the County League no longer matter and the magic that is the North Kerry Championship has proven that anyone can win on any given day. And so championship fever begins for 2018, with the draw for the North Kerry Championship taking place on Friday at 8 o’clock McMunn's Bar and Restaurant, Ballybunion, championship sponsors.

Shannon Rangers play Dingle in the County Senior Championship on Saturday in Dingle at 5.30pm.
