It was not our day when Beale seniors took on Lispole in the final of the County Junior Club Championship in Austin Stack Park on Saturday. Despite having the upperhand for much of the game, we came to rue missed scoring chances.

Our opponents were first off the mark on the scoreboard with two opening points and we hit a purple patch raising the green flag and sending over five unanswered points before Lispole struck a goal as the clock ticked towards half time. We went in at the interval three points to the good and, eventhough our opponents raised the white white again in the changeover, we still controlled the game. However, half way through this half, our plan seemed to fall apart and wayward shooting led to our demise. Not capitalising on scoring chances, we managed only three points in the second half as our opponents found scores easier come by. The game ended 1-11 to 1-08.

Beale seniors travel to Cordal for a 2 o’clock throw-in in round 4 of the County Senior League, Division 4, on Sunday. We host Castlegregory in Pâirc de Staic on May 27th.

Beale minors contest the County League, Division 4, semi-final against Lispole/Annauscal in Annauscal on Friday evening. A great game is anticipated as the teams could not be separated on the scoreboard in a high-scoring game when they met in the opening rounds.

Beale juniors have secured a semi-final spot in the North Kerry League, Division 3. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15th.

Best of luck to Darragh Buckley who is in training with the Kerry Juniors. We look forward to Darragh wearing the green and gold of the Kingdom.
