Beale seniors are through to the semi-final of the County Junior Club Championship against Ballyduff. We overcame Duagh on Saturday evening in a true championship game when spectators were treated to a spirited performance by both teams. Playing with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half, we did not capitalise on scoring chances and went into the interval two points adrift, 0-6 to 1-5.

Duagh were first off the mark on the changeover, but two goals within five minutes send us on our way and a third goal sealed our victory. We lived dangerously in front of goals in the closing minutes but our defence stood firm and our opponents managed just two points in the second half. Tension ran high throughout as tempers flared. Both teams were guilty of indiscipline with three Duagh players and two Beale players sent to the line. The final score line read Beale 3-8, Duagh 1-7.

Beale lined out as: Seán Dee, Fionnán Toomey, Colm Kissane, Pádraig Holly, Killian Walsh-O’Boyle, Paul Collins, Shane Joy, Jeremy King, Declan Banbury, Ger O’Gorman, Cormac Linnane(0-3(1f)), Jake O’Connell(1-0), Darragh Buckley(1-4(3f)), James McMahon(0-1) and Cillian Courtney (1-0). Substitutes: Callum McSweeney for Fionnán Toomey (inj.), Paul Horgan for Ger O’Gorman, Seamie O’Sullivan, Rory Mulvihill, John M Horgan, Alan Breen, Philip Hornyak and Seán Maloney.

The semi-final is scheduled for this weekend. Time and venue to be confirmed.

Beale juniors lost out to Moyvane in the North Kerry League,Division 3, on Tuesday evening last. Our last round game is against Ballydonoghue in Coolard on Tuesady at 7 o’clock.

Both teams served up some delightful first-half football when Beale minors hosted Kilcummin in Páirc de Staic on Friday evening in the County League, Division 4. A fast-flowing game with great defensive work and well-engineered movements saw Beale go into the interval with a 1-7 to 0-4 cushion.

While it is true to say that our opponents waned somewhat on the changeover, our boys worked hard for each other, and like a well-oiled machine, ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 3-18 to 0-8. Beale lined out: Gavin Sheehan, Eamon Lawlor, Diarmuid Mahony, Conor Toomey, Fintan Linnane, David Hennessy, Liam Bryant, Jack O’Sullivan, Pádraig Holly, Cathal Farrell, Bernard O’Callaghan, Seán Maloney, Luke O’Donovan, Conor Breen and Barry O’Neill. Substitutes: Eric Daly, Darragh Kissane, Conor Hennessy and Gerard Nagle.

Our final round game is against St Pat’s on Friday in Blennerville at 6.30pm

Our next round of the County Senior League, Division 4, against Skellig Rangers has been postponed. On May 13th we travel to Cordal and then we host Castlegregory in Pâirc de Staic on May 27th.

Best wishes to young storyteller, Than Creed, and the Scór committee in the County final of Scór na bPâistí on Sunday in Foilmore.
