The home side opened the scoring through a Niall Barrett free. David Cahill had a chance to extend the lead but his shot for goal was saved in the 7th minute. Niall Barrett had two further frees converted by the 15th minute for the home side but they missed further chances from both play and frees. Knocknagoshel were dominating in most areas at this stage and after a good move John O'Keeffe struck the post with a shot at goal. William Kirby pointed for Austin Stacks and Alan Duggan pointed his second free to level the sides before Niall Barrett put Knocknagoshel in the lead with a free to leave the score at half time 0-4 to 0-3 in favour of the home team. In the second half both teams traded points early on before Cian Liston was in the right place to tap the ball to the net to give Austin Stacks the lead for the first time in the game. Knocknagoshel responded well to this setback with a point from John Walsh and a sweet move which ended in Niall Barrett striking for goal. Alan Duggan who played well for the visitors throughout had two points on either side of a John Walsh point for Knocknagoshel before Cian Liston ploughed through for Austin Stacks and rattled the net to put his side two points to the good heading into the home stretch. Knocknagoshel wasted some further scoring opportunities before John Walsh pointed from play in the 27th minute of the half but time ran out for the home side and it was Austin Stacks who took the two county league points on offer.
