North Kerry Senior Championship - Semi-Final

Emmets 2-12 V Ballyduff 3-10

In front of a large crowd in immaculate settings, Ballyduff took the scalp of Emmets after a pulsating battle by a single point. Emmets looked to be in control of proceedings at half-time as they controlled most sectors of the pitch with Bryan Sweeney and Jack McGuire pulling the strings and helped by a Shane Quinn goal. With just two minutes gone in the second half Ballyduff looked to be in trouble after the aforementioned Sweeney finished off an excellent Listowel move to push them 8 points in front. This was as good as it got for the town side however as just a mere five minutes later Ballyduff were in front by a point after three quick fire goals by the Boyle brothers Mikey and Padraig before the lively Jack Goulding rounded Keith Hughes. Ballyduff pushed on from here and got to grips with Listowel at midfield as both sides exchanged scores to take turns at the lead. When Noel Kennelly fired over a late equaliser for Emmets we looked to be heading for a replay but the excellent Mikey Boyle had different ideas and dispatched a placed ball straight in front of the posts to send Ballyduff in to the Final. This was an intense battle as these two sides always seem to have whenever they meet and huge credit to Ballyduff for their never say die attitude. Brosna GAA must also be commended for the use of their excellent facilities as they left no stone unturned in their hosting of the occasion. Also a huge thanks to the North Kerry Board for streaming the game which judging on feedback was a huge success with supporters tuning in from the US and Australia. Best wishes to Ballyduff in the Final.
