Beale GAA   16/11/2017

It was definitely a game of two halves in Duagh on Sunday when Beale seniors took on Brosna in the quarter final of the North Kerry Championship. Leading by five points at half time, we ended up three points adrift at the final whistle. The teams exchanged opening points and a goal in the fifth minute from a rebound off the crossbar send us on our way. While scoring chances were missed by both teams, we owned the ball in the first halfand had a 1-5 to 0-3 advantage at the interval.

However, a sharper and more determined Brosna team emerged on the changeover and they scored six unanswered points, levelled in the tenth minute and took the lead in the eleventh. They then raised the green flag, extending their lead. Indiscipline took hold midway through the second half and both teams were reduced to 14 men, losing a player each to a red card offence. We finally found the target after twenty minutes, pointing from a free but our opponents proved stronger and fitter and with just 13 men, we trailed by three points at full time. Our run the in North Kerry Championship had come to an end. The final score read: Beale 1-8, Brosna 1-11.
