Beale seniors secured a quarter final spot in the North Kerry Championship when we had the upperhand on last year's finalists, St Senans, in Ballybunion on Sunday. Played in beautiful autumnal conditions in Páirc de Staic, it looked like Senans had the slight edge on the field of play in the opening 15 minutes but our defence stood firm, keeping scores to a minimum as the teams exchanged points. We settled into the game and raised the green flag, forging a 5-point lead. Both teams added further points and we had a 4-point cushion at the short whistle , 1-7 to 0-6.

We extended that lead with three unanswered points on the changeover. Our opponents found the net but we dug deep and a spirited team effort meant the result was never really in doubt and we emerged victorious on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-9.  We play the winners of Brosna/Finuge  on Sunday, November 12th in the quarter final.

Beale lined out as: Kenneth Mannix, Fionnán Toomey,, Colm Kissane, John Griffin, Philly Blake, Jeremy King, Shane Joy, Dan Ellis (0-1), Neilus Mulvihill, Cormac Linnane, Ger O'Gorman (0-7 (2f)), Ian Mannix (0-1), Tom Joy,(1-0), James McMahon (0-2) and Darragh Buckley (0-3). Our minors will be hoping for 'third time lucky' as this is their third final contesting this year and, despite valiant efforts, we have come up short so far.

Our semi-final of the North Kerry Junior Championdhip against Ballyduff has been postponed. Date to be confirmed.

We join forces again this year with Ballylongford and Asdee for the Under-21 Championship and have been drawn to play St Senans in the quarter final on Saturday, October 28th in Coolard at 3.00pm. It is planned to run off much of this competition over the Bank Holiday weekend and the winners contest the semi-final on Bank Holiday Monday against the winners of Emmetts/Knock-Brosna at 2 o'clock .

Beale GAA host our Annual General Meeting on Saturday, December 9th, at 8.30pm in Ballybunion Community Centre. Nominations for club officers and motions for the AGM to be submitted to the Secretary by December 2nd.

Beale GAA appreciate the contributions received at our recent annual church gate collection.

Plans are well under way and a lot of hard work is going on behind the scenes in preparation for Beale GAA's Halloween 'Tunnel of Terror'. This is the fifth annual event and promises to be even bigger and spookier. Prepare to be scared on Halloween night when the Beale zombies take over the town!
