Knocknagoshel 1-13 Tuosist 0-13

This was far from a dead rubber game as Knocknagoshel sought to lift themselves from the base of Division 5 and Tuosist facing Castlegregory in the semi final of the junior championship next weekend. It was the visitors who opened the scoring with a point from Mike Tim O'Sullivan. Knocknagoshel replied with a point from John O'Keeffe. Colm Brosnan swapped points with Niall Barrett before Tuosist pulled ahead with three points on the run two coming from Aaron Morris and a Colm Brosnan free. Niall Barrett pulled back a point from a free for Knocknagoshel but Tousist had three further points before half time two coming from Michael Healy and one from Colm Brosnan to leave the half time score at Knocknagoshel 0-3 Tuosist 0-8. In the second half Mike Tim once again opened the scoring with a point before Knocknagoshel started to eat into Tuosist's lead. Niall Barrett had two frees for fouls on David Cahill and he followed it with a good effort from play. Mike Tim replied with two points of his own before Knocknagoshel's centre back cut through the centre to slot over a nice point. Substitute Steven O'Connell tapped over a point with his left and Conor Sheehan struck over a long range point to narrow the gap to two for Knocknagoshel. The same player won the resulting kick out and found the lively David Cahill in space. He rounded his man well and tucked the ball neatly in the bottom corner to give the home side the lead for the first time. Two Niall Barrett frees and a point from play extended the lead to four before Flor O'Sullivan pointed for Tuosist to help lift the siege. Colm Brosnan reduced the deficit to two before Niall Barrett pointed for Knocknagoshel to ensure a home win on a score of 1-13 to 0-13.
