GAA Lotto : There was no winner of last week’s lotto jackpot draw. The numbers drawn were 17, 21, 24 and 25. Lucky Dip winners were Olly Conyard, John Kelly, Joan Murphy, Seamus Enright, Joe Mulvihill, Jim Mackessy. Next week’s draw takes place in Carmody’s Bar with a jackpot of €2,350. Thanks to all those who continue to support the Lotto. 

County League : Tarbert travelled to Castlegregory to take on the local side last Saturday but were defeated on a scoreline of 3-18 to 0-14. The home side led from the start thanks to a goal almost straight from the throw in and led at half time by 2-8 to 0-5. Tarbert now have only two games left, at home to Scartaglen next and away to Skellig Rangers. Tarbert with only six points in the league will need to win both games in order to be sure of avoiding relegation

Der O’Connor Memorial Cup : As part of the Tarbert Summer Festival Ballylongford and Tarbert played for the inaugural Der O’Connor Cup last Sunday evening in Shannon Park. Played in a very sporting manner Tarbert ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-10 to 1-9 with the winning two scores coming from the boot of Jonathan Wren with an excellent point and after a great solo run Evan Allen rattled to Bally net to secure victory. The O’Connor family donated the cup and medals and it was with great pride that team captain Ambrose Lanigan received the cup of behalf of the team from Mary Der O’Connor. Man of the match which was sponsored by Carmody’s bar was presented by Nuala Carmody to Tarbert’s Cathal O’Connor. Thanks to all those who helped make this a very memorable event and especially to Ballylongford who had played a county league game earlier that Sunday.

Tarbert Moyvane U-16 team were defeated by John Mitchels last Wednesday on a scoreline of 8-11 to 4-9. The team take on Cordal/Scartaglen this Wednesday evening in Moyvane. Tarbert Moyvane minors had another good win in the north Kerry league last Wednesday defeating Bally/Asdee on a scoreline of 4-10 to 4-2.
