Beale GAA   13/06/2017

It was not our day when Beale seniors travelled to Renard on Saturday for round 5 of the County Senior League, Division 4. Playing with the aid of a strong breeze, we would come to rue our missed chances in the first half. However, we pulled it back and the teams went into the interval on level par, six points apiece.

The home side took advantage of the breeze on the changeover, adding on the scores. We then hit form, our defence stood firm and we reduced the deficit to just one point at the three-quarters mark, 0-11 to 0-10. However, Renard's four rapid points put us on the back foot yet again as our wayward shooting led to missed scoring opportunities. Having lost Dan Ellis and Shane Hanrahan through injury, our hopes were definitely dashed when a rasper of shot for goal came off the crossbar. Our consolation goal nearing the end left us six points adrift at the final whistle, 1-17 to 1-11.

We host Duagh in Páirc de Staic on Sunday at 2.30, while Castlegregory, Scartaglin and Skellig Rangers will be our opponents in July. Our North Kerry Senior League game against Brosna has been rescheduled for June 25th at 2.30 in Brosna. We await details of quarter final of the County Novice Club Championship against Moyvane.

Our final of the North Kerry Junior League, Division 4B, against Ballyduff is scheduled for Tuesday, June 27th, in Ballylongford at 7.30. Beale juniors will host Kerins O'Rahilly's in the County League, Group 8, on Friday, June 23rd, in Páirc de Staic at 7.30. Then on July 7th, we travel to Ardfert for our final round game.

Beale minors kick off the North Kerry League, Division 2A, on Monday, June 26th, when we host  Knocknagoshel/Brosna in Ballybunion at 7.30. Ballydonoghue also contest this division.

Shannon Rangers contest the first round of the Under-21 Championship on Wednesday, June 21st, against Kenmare District, in Coolard at 7.30.
