Moyvane GAA   27/02/2017

LOTTO:  There was no winner of this weeks Jackpot of €3,800.  Numbers drawn were 8, 18, 20 and 21.  Lucky Dips of €40.00 each:  Anna Fogarty, Moyvane, Shane Hanrahan, the Hill, Michelle & Michael Lynch, Moyvane, Jane O’ Sullivan, Main Street, Glin, Shane O’ Donoghue, Listowel.  Next weeks Jackpot is €4,000 and the draw will be held in Speedy’s Bar on Sunday, March 5th at 10:00pm.  Tickets are available in local businesses and from committee members.  If you’re not in you can’t win!

SENIOR RESULT:  Moyvane made a great comeback against Knocknagoshel in the second half of this Round 4 Division 2 Senior County League game played in Moyvane on Sunday last.  1-5 to 0-3 down at half time Moyvane really upped their effort in the second half and with help from a goal from Padraig Leahy and a well taken penalty from Martin Stack they ran out eventual winners on a final score of Moyvane 2-9, Knocknagoshel 2-7.  This result gives Moyvane 4 wins out of 4 in the group rounds of this competition.  Congratulations to the Team and Management on 4 great results.

MINOR RESULT: Moyvane/Tarbert played Asdee/Ballylongford in their first Division 6A County League game of the year.  Although Asdee/Ballylongford eventually won the game on a final score of Moyvane/Tarbert 1-13 to 3-12 the lead was exchanged several times during the game.  We wish the Team and Management the best of luck for the rest of the competition.

MINOR FIXTURE:  Moyvane/Tarbert are away to Castlegregory in Round 3 of the Division 6A County League on Saturday, March 4th at 4.00pm.  Best of Luck Lads.

MEMBERSHIP:  Club Membership is still open for 2017.  The fees are €40.00 for Players and €20.00 for Students/Non Players.  Membership will close on March 31st as all members need to be registered with Croke Park by this date.  Only members paid up by March 31st can vote at the Club AGM or run for an Officer position in the Club.

SCOR NA BPAISTI:  The club would like to congratulate all of the students of Murhur National School who gave great performances in the North Kerry Final of Scor na bPaisti in the Marian Hall on Sunday last.  All of their hard work and effort paid off as Moyvane GAA were named North Kerry Champions in 4 categories, Figure Dancing, Recitation, Ballad Group and Sean Nos Dancing.  The Club were also named Overall Best Club on the day and the trophy was accepted by Club Secretary Aine Cronin from Sponsor Liam Hanrahan and Chairman of the North Kerry Board, Johnny Stack. We would like to wish the winning acts the very best of luck in the County Semi Final which will be held in Castleisland on Saturday March 11th at 3.00pm.  The Club would like to thank our Cultural Officer Tara Mulvihill and the Teachers of Murhur National School for all of their work helping the children prepare for the competition and congratulate North Kerry Board Cultural Officer PJ Mulvihill for overseeing a great days entertainment. 

SEAN WALSH:  Although the result of the GAA Presidential Election was not what we had hoped for the Club would like to wish Sean the very best of luck in the future and ensure him that we are all extremely proud of his efforts and  that he epitomises what the GAA means to us all.  Onwards and Upwards Sean!!
