Minor League Division 2 St Senans 2 8 vs 4 13 Beale 2013-07-29 18:11:00

St Senans 2.08 - Beale 4.14

Knocknagoshel/Brosna 3.13 - Asdee/Ballylongford 0.10

Despite what the score line suggests this was anything but a one sided game. Both sides were eager in the opening half and matched each other point for point in the early stages with points from Killian Keane and Timmy Finnegan for Knock/Brosna cancelled out by points from Kieran Kelly and Eoin Tydings for Bally/Asdee. Timmy Finnegan pointed from play what was a goal chance and Daragh Curtin shot just over the crossbar for Knock/Brosna while Eoin Tydings and Michael Holly pointed from play for the visitors. Bally/Asdee had a goal chance of their own denied by a good save from Gearoid Kelly in the Knock/Brosna goal. Knock/Brosna had a height advantage at midfield but the combination play from the visitors kept them in touch. Further points from Daniel Fitzgerald and Killian Keane and a free for Bally/Asdee saw the half time score 0-7 to 0-5 in favour of the home side. Goals proved to be crucial for Knock/Brosna in the second half. The first came from Daragh Curtin who palmed a breaking ball to the net and the second was a well executed shot from Timmy Finnegan. Knock/Brosna's third goal was from a free kick that went straight to the net and it took the wind out of Bally/Asdee's sails. The visitors had five points in the second half including nice points from play for Scott Fenton and Michael Holly. The switch of Killian Keane to midfield and Eamon Prendiville to full forward was effective for the home side in that second half as Killian worked hard around the middle third and Prendiville was an aerial threat inside. Final score Knock/Brosna 3-13 Bally/Asdee 0-10.
