Moyvane 4-13 Tarbert 7-08

For the second time in a week Moyvane and Tarbert came face to face and Tarbert having suffered a heavy defeat to Moyvane in their last outing in the county league came to Moyvane on Monday evening looking for a better performance. Moyvane started stronger leading by 5pts to 1 after 10 mins, with Tadhg McEvoy kicking accurately. However, Tarbert started to win possession in midfield and began a fight back. Each team traded goals and by half time two points separated the teams with Moyvane in the lead. The 2nd half was also a tight affair but the Tarbert defence held a strong Moyvane attack. At the other end Tarbert forwards were getting the upper hand scoring a number of well worked goals. With Tarbert ahead by 3 points and two mins remaining in the game, Moyvane got inside the Tarbert defence with a great opportunity to equalise but the shot was well saved on the edge of the square. Tarbert won possession from the kick out and kicked the final point of the game, to win by 4 points. Both teams served up a very enjoyable and competitive game which was well refereed.
