Div 2 League Asdee 0-10 Ballylongford 1-8 2013-02-28 14:53:00

Asdee 0-10 Ballylongford 1-8.

Played at Walsh Park, Asdee the clash of these fellow parishioners was always going to be interesting and after a very enjoyable hours football that went down to the wire it was Bally who clung on for a 1pt victory in the end. Certainly it was the home team who had much the better of the exchanges in the opening half when they led 0-7 to 0-2. On resumption Asdee will certainly rue a number of missed scoring opportunities which included what looked like a certain goal but Bally kept hanging in there and as the game wore on they were improving from their first half display. Certainly that bit of cuteness plus a goal of the soft variety after 10mts of this half saw them come within a point of their opponents. At this stage now their tails were up as they tagged on a number of well taken points to lead by two as the game came near the end. Asdee did register a point but it was never going to be enough and it is Bally who will hold the bragging rights for another year at least. Overall football was the winner and credit both teams for a grand open game of football.
