This was a game which the home side made hard work of but they will still be happy with their first win of the campaign. Valentia to their credit, despite finding themselves seven points adrift at the interval never gave up and made a great fight of it in the second half.

Special mention to long serving Valentia supporter Mary O'Sullivan who made the long journey to Lauragh to support her beloved Young Islanders.
