SENIOR CO. LEAGUE DIVISION 4 - ROUND 4 - 4/6/2017 2017-06-04 19:34:00

Dr.Crokes (B) 3-14,  Beale 0-13

A superior Dr Crokes had the upper hand on Beale on Sunday in the County Senior League, Division 4.  Played in ideal conditions in Páirc de Staic, the cross-field breeze slightly favoured Beale in the first half.  A great strike for goal by Ian Blake in the opening minutes set the tone for a first half, where there was very little between the teams.  The former Kerry minor showed well for Beale, but his efforts dropped short of the crossbar.  At the other end, Brian O'Shea and PJ Lawlor picked off the points for Crokes, while Ger O'Gorman and Callum McSweeney kept Beale in contention.  The Beale defence stood firm against Crokes' attacks with young Johnny O'Sullivan and the experienced John Griffin well in control.  There was nothing between the teams on the field of play and the minimum separated them to leave the half time score Dr. Crokes 0-8, Beale 0-7.

Dr Crokes meant business from the off on the changeover, running at the Beale defence and raising the green flag twice within ten minutes.  Midfielder, Paul Clarke, made a great run from his back line, cutting right through Beale attempts and struck for goal.  Their second goal set them up and it would have been three only for a great save by Beale keeper.         Dr. Crokes lorded midfield with Cillian Fitzgerald in the half back line breaking up attack. Beale were now struggling, as Crokes controlled the game.  Their third goal goal sealed it to leave the final score: Dr.Crokes (B) 3-14, Beale 0-13.
