In this local derby game in the summer sun of James O Sullivan Park Finuge, Round 8 of the county league commenced where Finuge played St Senans at home. St Senans were quick off the mark with an opening point scored by Damien Somers in the first minute. This
was closely equalized by a point from Finuge's Mike Conway in the second minute. This point was closely followed by a second point from Finuge's John McCarthy in the seventh minute. Closely afterwards, a goal from Ricky Heffernan helped by Mike Conway saw Finuge lead in the ninth minute by 10-2 to St Senans 1 point. Finuge seemed to up the pace at this point with a fine point from Ricky Heffernan in the 13th minute. This was closely followed by a point from Paudie Quill for St Senans.   Another point from play and a point from a free scored by Rickey Heffernan and two more points scored by Shane Conway and John Buckley in the ten minutes before half-time saw Finuge go in at half time leading by 1-07 to St. Senans 0-02.

The second half commenced with four quick points from St Senans’ Padraig Dillon, Jason Browne, Cathal Kennelly and a free taken by Sean O’Connell saw the score getting a little closer with Finuge  1-07 to St Senans 0-06. Next up was a goal chance from St Senans, which was saved by the Finuge's goalkeeper Darragh Horgan. After the excitement of the near goal chance, a point was recovered from Shane Conway, which put Finuge in the Lead 1-08 to 0-07 points. Another score from St Senans’ Alan Kennelly made the score 1-08 to 0-07. Ricky Heffernan scored another point from a free, which made Finuge again lead 1-09 to     St Senans 0-07. A point from St Senans’ Sean O’Connell from a free brought St Senans to    0-08. A couple of points from the Finuge brothers, Pat and Maurice Corridan, saw Finuge Lead 1-11 to 0-07 points in the 20th minute of the second half. Next up came a goal and followed by a point, both scored by Darren O’Sullivan (Finuge), which made the score 2-12 to St Sena's 0-08.  The final score of the game was awarded to Finuge with a fine kick from Mike Conway from the 45 yard line.  After this, the referee Donal Casey blew up the final whistle, leaving the final score:   Finuge 2-13 to St Senans 0-08 points.
