SENIOR CO. LEAGUE DIVISION 2 - ROUND 6 2017-07-13 00:25:00

Kilcummin 2-10 Beaufort 3-13

Played in perfect conditions, this was a very entertaining encounter, with both teams playing attacking football throughout.  Beaufort started the brightest and went in to a three point lead, before Oscar O’Connor goaled for Kilcummin after a fine run.  Liam Carey was causing a lot of problems for the Kilcummin defence and was instrumental in a move that lead to Padraigh Doona finishing the ball to the net. Kilcummin had a second goal, when Richie O’Connor rose highest to punch a Chris O’Leary cross to the Beaufort net.  Noel Duggan added three points for the home team, before Liam Carey drove through the Kilcummin defence to score his side’s second goal just before half time.  Half time score read Kilcummin 2-5 Beaufort 2-6.

The second half saw a continuation of attacking play and when Liam Carey got his second goal after ten minutes, Beaufort led by three points.  Kilcummin, driven on by Shane McSweeney and Matt Keane, created a number of goaling chances, but found Mike Moriarty in great form effecting some great saves.  When Noel Duggan got sent off, Kilcummin's task was made much harder and Beaufort used the extra man wisely to deservedly close out the game, courtesy of points from Niall O’Connor, Ciaran Kennedy and Fergal Hallissey. Final Score Kilcummin 2-10 Beaufort 3-13
